Petrifying Palace is a large-scale immersive Halloween experience created by the Education and Engagement Department in deep collaboration with Development and Marketing. The event transforms the historic Palace Theatre into a fully realized theatrical environment complete with interactive characters, atmospheric design, narrative elements and guided audience pathways. Part haunted attraction and part immersive theatre, the production invites guests to explore redesigned rooms, backstage areas and hidden spaces within the theatre while encountering performers and story-driven moments throughout the experience. The 2025 production sold out and established the event as one of WCT’s most successful community engagement offerings. In addition to audience impact, Petrifying Palace provides hands-on creative opportunities for local performers, technicians and student apprentices in character development, scenic construction, costuming and event operations, positioning it as both a signature attraction and an educational platform.
