GREENBURG, PA – Old Salem Farmers Market is thrilled to announce its inaugural season opening on Sunday, June 9th. Conveniently situated with ample free parking and easy accessibility, the market will be located in the parking lot behind the Greensburg Garden & Civic Center at 951 Old Salem Road, Greensburg, PA 15601. The season will run every Sunday, rain or shine, from June 9th to October 20th, 2024. Managed and operated by Westmoreland Cultural Trust, the market is free to attend.
Old Salem is currently seeking agricultural, prepared food, and homemade/handmade vendors, as well as food truck merchants interested in applying. All products sold must be locally grown, prepared, or made. For more information, contact sreilly@wctrust.net or call 724-836-3074 x256.
Attendees of the new market will have the opportunity to explore a thoughtfully curated showcase of local farmers and artisans offering fresh produce, artisanal goods, and handmade products. With a focus on freshness and homegrown quality, visitors will have access to locally grown fruits and vegetables, such as farm-fresh eggs, succulent honey, and much more, sourced directly from nearby farms and producers. The market will also feature vendors selling handmade goods such as bread, baked goods, and unique arts and crafts.
“By shopping locally, you’re not only enjoying the freshest produce and goods, but also supporting local farmers, artisans, and small businesses in our community,” notes Stephanie Reilly, Manager at Greensburg Garden & Civic Center. “We’ve created a welcoming open-air market that gives the community an opportunity to learn more about where and how their food is grown and sourced, providing them with access to fresh and healthful options,” said Reilly.
To help kick off the grand opening festivities on June 9th, the market will feature live music, giveaways, and more.
