The Westmoreland Cultural Trust (WCT) is the largest arts and cultural organization in Westmoreland County and the Laurel Highlands region. WCT owns and operates The Palace Theatre, Stark/James Building and the Union Trust building. WCT also manages the Greensburg Garden & Civic Center. In 2024, 157,000 patrons and guests visited WCT’s facilities, resulting in an economic impact was $12.88 million. WCT operates with an annual budget of just over $8 million and expects significant growth over the next few years with the launch of an Education & Engagement department.

The Development department is responsible for maintaining, cultivating, and growing the donor base that supports the mission and growth of the organization. In this newly created role, the Development Associate reports directly to the Director of Development and works closely with the development team, executive leadership, education and engagement team and board members to achieve annual fundraising goals and ensure for the organization’s future growth.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year


Job description

Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development, Institutional Advancement Committee, and CEO to set and track annual revenue targets for individual giving.
  • Support the Director of Development in developing short- and long-term strategies for annual, multi-year, and campaign commitments.
  • Contribute to the organization’s annual fundraising plan and monitor progress toward goals with standard KPI metrics.
  • Assist with planned giving and endowment campaigns as needed.
Special Events & Stewardship
  • Support event logistics, donor recognition, and post-event follow-up strategies.
  • Represent the organization at special events, performances, and community engagements.
Database Operations
  • Maintain accurate donor records in the organization’s CRM and peer network software programs (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, Kindsight/IWave), documenting all donor interactions and moves management.
  • Generate reports to track development department progress.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of gifts, pledges, and acknowledgments.
Grants Management
  • Assist the Director of Development with grant administration as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, preferably within arts, culture, or related fields required.
  • Experience and proficiency with donor management databases and Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for the arts, cultural equity, and the organization’s mission.
  • The above is not an exhaustive list of duties. The Development Associate will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the ever-changing role of the Westmoreland Cultural Trust in the community.

Target Salary Range: $50,000-$55,000/annually
