Volunteer FAQs

How old do you have to be to volunteer?
Minimum age requirement is 16 years of age.
What positions are available for a volunteer?
Our volunteers take care of a variety of duties including ticket scanning, welcoming guests, escorting them to their seats, and overseeing coat check rooms. Outdoor events include raffle sales, information tables, and event setup.
What are the physical requirements to volunteer?
Volunteers may be standing for extended periods of time, especially during the portions of the shift when spectators arrive and depart. You also need to be comfortable navigating stairs and sloping isles in dimly lit or dark theatrical spaces only with flashlights. There are positions that can be adjusted to fit your needs if you have physical restrictions.
What happens after I apply?
An invitation to attend a volunteer orientation will be sent to you. You will become aware of the duties of a volunteer during the evening. After that, you will be assigned an orientation show where you may observe one of our amazing veterans in action. If you enjoyed your evening with us, we would move forward with your schedule.
What is the time commitment for an event?
Every event is different, but a typical shift is 4-6 hours.
Is there a minimum number of shows you must volunteer for?
Based on their interests, volunteers can take part in a range of events and activities, and various scheduling options are offered to fit each volunteer's unique schedule.
Is there a dress code for volunteers?
Currently we ask that you wear black dress pants, black shoes, and a white shirt. In the near future, we will be ordering custom logo-embroidered vests, which will go over the white shirts. Badges must always be visible. For outdoor events, we will be transitioning to logo-attired polo shirts, along with name badges.
Can I watch the performance?
Yes, you will be able to see the performance while working at the event but please keep in mind that our patrons’ needs come first. It is crucial to strike a balance between your obligations and the opportunity to enjoy the event.
Is parking free for volunteers?
After 5:00 p.m., metered street parking is free. There will be a garage parking pass available if the event is during the day.
