Mobile Ticketing Now Live at The Palace Theatre
New digital option allows seamless access to tickets via smartphone for a faster, easier entry
GREENSBURG, PA — The Palace Theatre (owned and managed by Westmoreland Cultural Trust) is excited to announce the official launch of mobile ticketing at The Palace Theatre. This new digital feature, now live, makes it easier than ever for patrons to access, store, and present their tickets right from their smartphones.
With mobile ticketing, guests who select “Email” as their ticket delivery method will receive a secure link to view and manage their tickets. Tickets can be conveniently added to Apple or Google Wallet, accessed directly from an email, printed from home, or even saved as a screenshot—giving patrons ultimate flexibility in how they arrive at the theatre.
Importantly, the Trust emphasizes that physical ticket options are not going away. Many loyal patrons enjoy saving their tickets as mementos, and The Palace Theatre will continue to support traditional mailed paper tickets for those who prefer them.
“The launch of mobile ticketing is an exciting upgrade that enhances convenience for our audiences while preserving the ticket options our patrons know and love,” said Daniel Stainer, Director of Marketing & Patron Experience for Westmoreland Cultural Trust. “Whether you’re tech-savvy or prefer the familiarity of a printed ticket, we want to make sure everyone enjoys a seamless and stress-free experience from arrival to showtime.”
In addition to mobile ticketing, The Palace Theatre has also enabled Apple and Google Pay, making it easier for patrons to complete purchases quickly and securely on the venue’s website. If patrons are using a supported device or browser, these options will appear automatically during checkout.
How Mobile Ticketing Works
Once a purchase is complete, patrons will find a “View Your Tickets” link in their confirmation email, order summary page, and pre-show reminder email. This link leads to a personal online ticket page, where several access options are available:
- Add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet (Highly Recommended): This method ensures quick access without needing internet on-site. Each ticket must be added individually.
- Take a Screenshot: A visible barcode screenshot can be saved or shared with guests (each ticket must be added individually, and each individual barcode will only scan once).
- Print at Home: For those who prefer paper.
- Open from Email: Tickets can be scanned directly from a smartphone at the theatre entrance.
All ticket formats are scannable and valid for entry. The new mobile feature also supports accessibility features like screen readers and optimized barcode design for smoother scanning.
Tips for a Smooth Show Night Experience:
- Add tickets to your digital wallet in advance. Each ticket must be added individually.
- Turn screen brightness up and have your ticket ready.
- Swipe through multiple tickets when entering as a group.
- For printed tickets, keep them unfolded and ready to scan.
- Visit the box office before the show for any last-minute assistance.
Patrons who previously received PDF print-at-home tickets via email before the transition can still use those tickets without issue. Ticket transfers are not supported, but patrons may print or screenshot tickets to share with others, provided the barcode has not yet been scanned.
Box office staff will be available two hours before most events to assist with any ticketing questions or troubleshooting.
Westmoreland Cultural Trust and The Palace Theatre remain committed to blending modern convenience with the classic theatre-going experience that generations of guests have come to enjoy.
