TIJUANA BRASS
We open this year with a tribute to Herb Alpert and his Tijuana Brass, featuring their hits such as Tijuana Taxi, Taste of Honey, Zorba the Greek, as well as other favorites from Whipped Cream and Other Delights. We are also joined again by steel pan virtuoso, Liam Teague, to show us how versatile and far-reaching the repertoire of the steel pan can be. We will premiere the work “Rhapsody in Steel” written for steel pan and brass band. This concert is sure to take us “South of the Border” for a fun start to the season!
River City Brass is a full-time professional brass band that is dedicated to bringing its music into local communities where audiences reside. We offer a wide variety of repertoire and a unique and personable experience for all patrons! Our mission is to entertain, engage, and educate audiences of all ages by sharing American musical culture in the Pittsburgh region, nationally, and internationally.
